December

Well December is nearly over. We've had a busy month (which I'm sure everyone did). The only thing really Christmasy that we did was go see the lights at Thanksgiving Point (other than Christmas presents and celebrating Christmas, that is). The lights at Thanksgiving Point were nice, although there were points where lights seemed to be missing. Anyway, Noah sat on Jeremy's lap while he drove through it and Ben stood in between us. They kept pointing and saying, "Wow!" It was so cute. Ben liked to see the polar bears and Santas. They waved to the ones that waved to you and wanted to do it again. Of course, we couldn't, but we were glad they enjoyed it.

On Christmas Eve I woke up, sick. I could hardly even move. I was in bed all day and barely ate anything. It sucked, because I was hoping to be able to spend the day with Jeremy and the kids, having fun. Instead, Jeremy ended up taking care of the kids and I slept. Mostly. Jeremy was going to take the kids out to his brother and sister-in-law's house, where they do a nativity "performance" of sorts. But then Noah threw up, so he couldn't go. They ended up playing games all day. Jeremy even finished up *most* of the wrapping that I hadn't been able to do (he wasn't able to do all of it). Then, when the kids were finally asleep at about one a.m. (the boogers), I crawled upstairs and helped him get the Santa presents all set up with the stockings and everything. Noah and Jeremy had put out cookies and milk for Santa, and they were already gone by the time we got there. My mother-in-law had even put a note on the cup for Noah from Santa saying thanks. It was really cute.

The whole Christmas season, Noah's been asking Santa for a Batman Batcave that they were selling in stores. We managed to get it for him-or should I say, Santa did-among lots of other things. This was the first year ever we were able to get the kids a great Christmas, and it was really nice to be able to do that. Ben got a Fisher Price, Little People, Wheelies Stand-n-Play Rampway (a mouthful, I know) from Santa. They both love their toys. Although, I must say, Noah likes the DS Dad and Mom got him better than the Batcave. No way is Santa out doing us!! =)

I was still weak and nauseous on Christmas, although no longer throwing up. I got up and showered before the kids were awake, which was a really good idea, because I had to take a while because I couldn't stand. Around 9:30, 10:00 ish, we finally woke up the kids (they were snooze butts!) and told them Santa had come. It was great to see their faces.

Jeremy spoiled me for Christmas. He and Noah got me a necklace and earrings that are just BEAUTIFUL. I love them (thank you babe and Noah!). Plus earlier, I had gotten a netbook that he let me use early since it was so handy for school (I love it, too!).

He also got a little spoiled. He bought a new truck before Christmas. It was a lot more expensive than my netbook, so he didn't get as much to actually open, but I got him what I could. He's happy in his truck, though, and says he feels "manly" because of it. Ha ha. Whatever butters your biscuit, I guess. =)

We went to my parents house for a little while. I wish we could have stayed longer, but I just wasn't feeling well. So after a little while we left and went over to my sister's house, but only stayed for a few minutes because of how sick I was feeling. My sister got us a gift card to the Thai House in American Fork, which was awesome. We love that place. I would seriously eat there every day, if I could afford it. I hope she liked what we got her. I've noticed her hot pads were very thin and had holes, so I got her some new, nice ones, along with some kitchen towels. I have more for her, but I forgot it. I still need to get it to her!

On the 29th, it was our six-year anniversary for getting married. So we used the gift card to the Thai House. It was delicious (seriously, if you've never tried it but you like curry, you'll love it. Their pineapple curry is to die for!!). We had planned on going to a movie after, but because of the snow storm, Jeremy had taken so long to get back to the house from running some errands (which I later found out meant getting me a present) that we weren't able to. He got me six beautiful roses, red and yellow (one for each year of our marriage, which is something he's done every anniversary). The present he got me was a bracelet that was beautiful. It was funny, too, because as I got ready to go out, I was putting on my necklace and earrings and thought that I didn't have a pretty bracelet to match. Well, now I do!

Anyway. This will be my last post for the year. So I just want to say a huge thank you to my in-laws for helping us to get on our feet. We've been trying really hard the past few weeks to find a place of our own. Now that Jeremy's working again, we think we can do it. I also want to say thank you to my sister, Krystal, who has been a light in a hard time. Every time I go to her house, even when I'm upset, depressed, or angry, I leave happier. =)

The situations we've been put through this year have made me realize a lot. My kids are amazing lights in a very hard time. While I still loose my patience with them way too quickly, they are my angels, and they make me so very happy. My family means the world to me, and I wouldn't trade them for all the money in the world, because I would be a very unhappy person. 2009 and 2010 were both very hard years that I just want to throw away. 2011 will be better, because the only place we have is to go up.

The Family

Well, I have decided that since everyone and their dog has a family blog, I ought to start one for my family. There are four of us: Jeremy, me (Diana), and our two sons Noah and Ben. We have been married nearly six years (in just a month and six days!). I can't believe it's been that long.

Jeremy goes to school on-line through Western Governor's University. He's studying business marketing. I go to UVU and I am studying English with a focus in creative writing, although Jeremy is trying very hard to convince me to study astronomy instead...I come home from my astronomy class and am so excited by it that I feel I have to tell him everything I've learned, even though he won't understand most of it. =)

Noah is five. He goes to a pre-school right down the road from where we're living (which is currently in Jeremy's parents basement, hopefully changing soon). He has developed a huge attitude and picks on Ben all the time. But he's growing fast and learning a lot. He's super smart and gets bored easily. He loves to play games on our Wii and help Jeremy when he's fixing cars. He asks me everyday if I remember when we went to Disneyland (we went earlier this year) and tells us that he wants to go back. He says the funniest things all the time.

Ben is two (and just barely fell asleep on my shoulder). He got tubes put in his ears in May and ever since then, he's started talking so much more. He loves to play with Noah and gets sad when Noah leaves for school. He is just learning to fight back when Noah picks on him and he usually wins, lately. He's a big and hefty kid. He only weighs four pounds less than Noah even though they're almost three years apart!

Jeremy has been out of work for a while and trying different things to earn money. Finally, he got a call from three different places saying they needed him temporarily. We're calling them his "if jobs." IF they need help, then they'll call him. Two of them are HVAC stuff and the other one is doing paperwork kind of stuff for his brother. Luckily, all of them need him right now.

For the month of November, I entered a competition to write a 50,000 word, 175-page novel in 30 days (right now I am procrastinating working on it). I'm currently behind, but I WILL do it. Even if I have to stay up all night one or two nights! Because the 30th is in a week (holy hannah, that's WAY too close). After I get this book written, edited, and am satisfied with it, I have an idea for another book. I'm also already writing yet another book, but it's taking me a REALLY long time because it's taking a lot of research. Hopefully one day all of this writing will pay off and maybe I can get a book or two published! I would love that.

Anyway, that's our family for now. =)
