January 2012

Happy new year!! I know that this is technically a month late, and it's even already past Valentine's now, but this is my first post of 2012 (well, the months of 2012). So deal. =) Also, this is another pictureless post because my camera is broken. ='( It's very sad. So if I'm boring you with words and no pictures, sorry. Feel free to stop reading now. =)

Anyway, I spent the first week or so sick in bed. Remember how I said I got sick the day Jeremy and I were coming home from our anniversary "trip" to Wendover? Yeah. It didn't get better. It started with a bit of nausea that made it difficult to eat and a headache. It escalated into me being in bed eating lots and lots of chicken noodle soup (seriously, it's like all I ate) and watching lots of movies. It was not fun. All in all, it lasted a little over a week. My temperature reached 104.1 (very scary for an adult, I could have started seizing, I was quite lucky) and we were convinced to go to the doctor. At this point, I'd lost a few pounds because I couldn't eat much and I would go into these horrible coughing fits. It sucked. The doctor said I had bronchitis and a virus. He gave me an anti-viral medication to help relieve the symptoms and some cough medicine which I went through in about a week. That's how bad the cough was.

Finally, I was better. And then school started. Like the next day. This semester I'm babysitting for my sister on Mondays while she's at school and she occasionally watches Noah and Ben for me while I'm going to school. Usually Jeremy just leaves work early enough so she doesn't have to. But then sometimes she watches them and he forgets he needs to pick them up. Anyway, we've been very busy with school, Noah's karate, and life. So it took a bit of adjustment.

My birthday was on the 15th. It feels weird to know that on my next birthday I'll be 27. For some reason it seems like a milestone. I dunno. I know it's not like 30 which is a clear milestone. but whatever. Anyway, Saturday night Jeremy took me to the Thai House in American Fork. We love that place. It's so yummy. If you've never tried it, you have to. Try the pineapple curry. It's to die for. I also like the pumpkin curry, but it's a bit spicy so if you don't like hot, don't eat it. Oh, and also try the cream cheese wontons. Yum.

Anyway, back on track. After the restaurant, we went and saw Sherlock Holmes 2. It was really great. I loved it. Then on my birthday Jeremy made flat pancakes (he is the king at this, they're kind of like crepes and sooo yummy). He and the boys got me roses. He hadn't gone shopping for any presents yet, so he and the boys dropped me off at Rue 21 so I could spend the gift card I'd gotten for Christmas and they went shopping (yeah, he's that big of a slacker). So I got some new clothes and some sunglasses (which I REALLY needed) and a bunch of new kitchen stuff for presents. I was really excited about all the kitchen stuff. Ha ha. Then he cooked me lobster for dinner. And made a really yummy fruit salad. We had cheesecake for dessert (that I had to make myself earlier in the day...lol).

Oh, and while we were gone my sister dropped by some super yummy orange rolls which got eaten in like ten minutes. And my mother-in-law and father-in-law came by to bring me a gift card to Kohl's. That was very sweet of them.

The rest of the month was just spent doing schoolwork and life stuff. I can't think of anything else significant that happened...If you made it through without pictures, well done and thanks! =)

December 2011

December was busy. As I'm sure it was for everyone. I think I pretty much forgot to get the camera out for anything. I didn't even get a picture of our Christmas tree. =( Oh well. We started the month with me trying to play catch up so I could finish up the semester. Unfortunately I didn't get as good of grades as I wanted, but at least I didn't fail anything...that I know of.

I got all of my Christmas shopping done AND wrapped by the week before Christmas. It was a miracle...I've never done that before. I've always been one of those people out on the 24th buying last minute gifts. But not this time. However, Jeremy hadn't gotten me anything and so he took the kids out on the 24th while I walked around the store and looked at stuff that I don't ever get to look at. So we were shopping on Christmas Eve.

In between shopping and going to dinner with Jeremy's parents (they always go to dinner and a movie on Christmas Eve), we made Santa some cookies. My oven sucks, though, so they were super soft and we didn't even have time to frost them. But that's OK, because the kids had fun cutting them out. Then we did dinner with Jeremy's mom, dad, aunt, sister, and her boyfriend. It was nice to spend time with them. We started to go up to see the lights at Temple Square, but Jeremy started to feel sick and it was already kind of late. So we just ended up going home. The kids each opened a pair of pajamas. Noah's was Super Mario (which he LOVED) and Ben's was Mario Kart. We tracked Santa on the computer and the kids went to bed earlier than normal because they wanted to be asleep when he came. As soon as they were out, we set everything up and then went to bed ourselves.

The kids got spoiled this year (well, last year, I guess, at this point). Before we've never really had the money to do too much for them. This year we finally did, so we went all out. We spent way too much on them, but they really enjoyed it. They got up at about 7:30 on Christmas Day. Well, Noah did. We had to wake up Ben. As soon as he realized what was going on, he was all into it. Santa brought them each a red spark scooter (it's a scooter that has this thing on the back that you push down and it sparks), filled up their stockings with stuff from the dollar store, and he brought them an art easel to share. They've gotten good use out of all of these.

I got Jeremy a massage chair that I think I've gotten more use out of than he has (seeing as I'm home with it all day) and he got me quite a few things. Then we went to my parents house for a few hours and my sister's for a few minutes. Then we spent the rest of the day up at Jeremy's parents house. We always do Christmas dinner there because (well other than my parents not inviting us to theirs anymore) they have steak and crab. It's super delicious. We played some games and exchanged gifts. Then we came home and spent the evening with each other.

Four days after Christmas, it was mine and Jeremy's 7th anniversary. We picked a really bad time to get married, but that's OK. My sister watched the boys overnight while Jeremy and I went to Wendover. Neither one of us had ever spent much time there. It was nice to get away for a night. We gambled about $25-30 dollars away (we figured this is the equivalent of a date) and ate some yummy dinner. Then we went back to our Jacuzzi suite for the night (the tub was HUGE, it was way nice).

The next morning I woke up feeling nauseous and had a headache, and it did not improve as the day went. Over the next week I got really sick and spent the entire week in bed, with Jeremy taking work off to take care of the kids. My in-laws also watched them for a day and sister did for a day, too. It was awful.

Anyway, we spent New Year's Eve at home with each other. We got invited to a party but we kind of just wanted a low key night with just us. This ended up being a good plan because I was so sick. We lit off a firework around 8 PM and then played a game my sister-in-law got us for Christmas called Martian Panic. I managed to stay awake, in spite of being sick, until midnight.

That was our December! I hope yours was good as well!

November 2011

So November wasn't terribly exciting. It was Noah's 6th birthday, so I have a few pictures from that, but that's all the pictures I have for today. Of course, it was Thanksgiving. Noah and I decided that every morning we were going to tell each other something we're grateful for. It worked out for the most part. We forgot some mornings. Then came Thanksgiving. We had tons of food. I went with my in-laws to see Breaking Dawn part 1. We got our Christmas tree the Saturday after Thanksgiving. I was sick that weekend, though, so it was kind of rough. And I didn't get any pie. But really, that's about all that happened.

Let's Play Catch Up...

Well, it's been a while since I've had time to write. School started again for me...yay (sarcastically). Noah started kindegarten (I really don't think I'm old enough to have a kindegartener...but apparently I am. We have some great news, but I can't post it on the blog (I know that makes no sense to you) so if you haven't heard it, which most of you have, then text me, e-mail me, or ask me on facebook. Halloween is our favorite holiday and so we always dress up. I try to make Jeremy and me match. This year we were the Mad Hatter and Alice. Um...that's about our life right now. This month being the month of Thanksgiving, I want to express my gratitude for my blessings. I am so grateful to be a stay-at-home Mom. I couldn't be luckier. I love being able to sit at the table with Noah after school and help him with schoolwork. I am so grateful for my husband working hard so that I am able to do this and for his support of my schooling. I am grateful to two little boys who are growing bigger each day and all the time that I get to spend with them. They are so precious to me and I am so lucky to be blessed with them. They provide so much love in my life and I am so grateful to be able to raise them. I am grateful for our good news (it really was amazing and thought it would never happen-no, I'm not pregnant!). Thanks for reading! Enjoy the pictures. =)

In August and part of September the kids did soccer. I love Ben's face in this one.

Ben wouldn't let me get any cute pictures like this, but at least Noah would.

Noah's favorite position to play was Goalie.

For most of the season, this is how he played soccer.

We got him to play for a minute in his last game.
Noah's 1st day of Kindegarten. I can't believe he's so big.

Noah does Karate. I LOVE this picture of him.
Ben pretends to do Karate. But he's still cute.

Halloween...the best holiday EVER.

Noah at his Parade.

Close up of Jeremy's make up.

This picture is cool b/c Ben looks like he's glowing.

We are so awesome. =) Everything that Jeremy is wearing came out of our closet, just FYI. Oh, and i made Ben's costume. Myself. With a little help from Jeremy's aunt. Who knew I could sew and like it?

Ben's 3rd Birthday

This is Ben's 3rd birthday. We had two parties...one for Jeremy's family at their house and one for my family at Discovery Park. There's no pictures of Ben's cousins that came because I don't know how the mom would feel about me posting pictures of them. There's also no pictures of my sister's kids that came to the park because I know she wouldn't want me to post them. It was a lot of fun and I am so glad to have a 3-year old.

Jeremy's mom and aunt came to the park. The closest ones are my mom and dad.

My dad doing his half smile. Apparently we don't get a real smile from him.

Noah playing with the swords.

Ben concentrating very hard on decorating his shield.

Noah's finished shield.

The pinata and me looking pregnant-I'm not!

Blowing out candles. We had to huddle around it because the wind was blowing so bad.

One of the many reasons I fell in love with this man.

Playing with balloons.

"It's my party and I'll cry if I want to!"

Eating cupcakes.

Opening presents.

Blowing bubbles.

His new bowling set.

The game Noah picked out for him.

Dart gun and dart board. I now halfway regret buying this for him as he has shot me numerous times with it. So has Jeremy for that matter.

Dancing to the musical card.

Playing on the slip'n slide he got.
